Streamlining Catalog Buying with Lean Request in SAP S/4HANA

The client, a leading beverage manufacturer, wants to become the leading 24/7 beverage partner across its 30 markets. It also has a partnership with a larger beverage company, allowing it to produce, distribute, and sell that company’s portfolio of beverages. In addition to buying beverage concentrate under an incidence-based pricing model, the client also shares marketing costs and responsibilities.

The company’s catalog buying solution no longer met current security requirements. In addition, support for the self-service procurement functionality in its supplier relationship management solution was ending. The client was looking for a new catalog buying solution that would meet its business goals of increasing catalog utilization for stock and nonstock items, automating the complex processes of catalog management, and fully integrating with its existing ERP solution

With lean request in SAP S/4HANA, the client has been able to improve user satisfaction through new user interface and optimized processes, clean up all internal and external catalogs, and increase validation options by introducing additional fields and checks linking to the PO (batch number, track number, and so on) and financial checks.
